Looking Ahead

“A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions.
The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.”
Proverbs 27:12

Andy Stanley once said, “Today will be a yesterday that follows you into your tomorrows”. The consequences we’re facing today are a result of our choices yesterday. If we don’t like certain things in our lives today, we probably should have made different choices in some yesterdays.

If we’re experiencing health problems, it may be because of how we took care of our bodies in the past. If we’re stuck in a toxic job, it’s probably because we chose to stay in that situation. If we’re in a bad relationship, it’s probably due to decisions we made in the past about that relationship.

But there is hope. If we make wise choices today, we can experience a better tomorrow. The choices we make today about our company will have an impact on the future of our company.

This is called delayed gratification. We have to always be thinking of the future instead of what feels good right now.
