Leadership, a Sacred Trust

Leadership a Sacred Trust

“Then Pilate had Jesus flogged with a lead-tipped whip.”
“I am going to bring him out to you now,
but understand clearly that I find him not guilty.”
(John 19:1,4)

Pilate could have exercised his power and authority to uphold justice. Instead, he bowed down to please the people. But the people weren’t pleased. Instead, they became more agitated.

Leadership is a sacred trust, given from God. From time to time, leaders face tough decisions. We can choose to try to please people, which is cowardice. Or we can choose to bring justice and hope, no matter the cost.

People ultimately don’t want their leaders to bow down and make decisions to please them. They want to be held to the higher standards of what’s truly right.
