“The apostles said to the Lord, “Give us more faith!”
The Lord said, “If your faith were the size of a mustard seed,
you could say to this mulberry tree,
‘Dig yourself up and plant yourself in the sea,’
and it would obey you.
If a little is good, then is more better? Not so with faith. The apostles thought they needed more faith to forgive, but actually they just needed faith. Faith doesn’t come in sizes. It only takes faith the size of a mustard seed.
When we know we need to do something, to wish for more faith is really an excuse for unbelief. We don’t need more faith. We just need to act in faith on what we know is right. Then God will show us the next step and the next. These steps might be tiny, but the only thing required of us is to walk in obedience in the right direction.
