You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope.
With less of you there is more of God… Matthew 5:3
I’ve often heard the phrase “the gift of desperation.” How could the Bible declare desperation a blessing? God’s not saying we’re blessed because of desperation, but what can happen through it. When painful circumstances come, people often turn to God and crumble in his arms. In the midst of our desperation, he is always faithful to offer his love and forgiveness, flowing like a pure river into our hearts.
I was in that place of desperation, a dark place that was an outcome of my own wrongdoing. I reached out to God and begged for his mercy. When I thought there was no way God could forgive me, he lifted me up and showed me his unfailing love. God redeemed me and continues to show his mercy when I find myself in a similar place.
I am forever grateful!
Father, thank you for the gift of desperation. You’ve truly blessed me beyond my wildest dreams.
