We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God…
totally committed to doing good deeds.
From Titus 2:12-14
Following Jesus is a conscious, daily choice. You must fully immerse yourself in study, practice, and hard work. You can’t afford to deceive yourself into thinking you’re a Christian because you were baptized, had an encounter with God, attend church, or read the Bible and other religious books.
You follow Jesus by following Jesus, not by taking religion classes and getting diplomas. Find connection with him and keep it. Eliminate everything hindering that way of life. Learn everything you can about how to apply the Bible to your life. Then get out and apply it. Fall down and get up. Walk, even if you must sometimes walk alone.
Each of us is allotted limited time, energy, and resources. You only can master a few things. If you try to master everything, you’ll master nothing. Some people master deception, blame-shifting, and procrastination. Others master more worthy skills. A few choose to master following Jesus. Don’t be duped by a diploma or baptism certificate.
What will you master?
