Keep Your Balance

Love wisdom like a sister; make insight a beloved member of your family.
(Proverbs 7:4)

Recently, I was in an extremely difficult and awkward situation for a few days. One morning I woke up and wanted to quit. I wanted to bash someone.
But I knew that would make the situation worse.
I asked Gina to pray with me and help me get my bearings. She said she saw wisdom as a gyroscope. A gyroscope uses Earth’s gravity to help determine vertical orientation. Gyroscopes keep airplanes and space ships from flopping around. The spinning wheels on a bicycle are gyroscopes, keeping it upright.
As I went through that day, I allowed wisdom, not my frustrating circumstances to keep me emotionally stable. It worked. I was able to remain calm and clearheaded, and come through the day feeling peace.
Let wisdom be the whispering gyroscope of your heart, keeping you balanced as you walk life’s many tightropes.
