I Know My God

I Know My God

“Why, that’s very strange!” the man replied. “He healed my eyes, and yet you don’t know where he comes from? Ever since the world began, no one has been able to open the eyes of someone born blind. If this man were not from God, he couldn’t have done it.”
(John 9:30, 32, 33)

The Pharisees saw themselves as the superior spiritual leaders of their day. In this story they were trying to trap this man, whose eyes had been healed, by asking him all these loaded questions. He finally called them on it, because they acted as though they weren’t up on the current events in their own area of expertise.

If we truly are God’s people, we should be able to recognize his work and power. It’s like being able to identify the artist of a song just by hearing it. Followers of Christ should know him so well that we know exactly what his voice sounds like, and recognize when it’s not him.

God, help me to recognize when it’s you talking to me.
