“My purpose in writing is to encourage you
and assure you that what you are experiencing
is truly part of God’s grace for you.
Stand firm in this grace.”
1 Peter 5:12
In Peter’s last written words, he reminds us of the blessing of suffering in trials. He didn’t want us to miss out.
If we embrace trials and suffering as a normal part of life and needful for us to mature, we must look beyond our current circumstances. We can’t experience God’s grace without trials. God doesn’t waste our pain but intends for it to enlarge our hearts and mature our character. Simply put, Peter tells us to “hang in there and don’t miss your opportunity.”
