Don’t Look for Shortcuts to God

Don’t look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don’t fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do. The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires total attention.
(Matthew 7:13-14)

We’re in a fast paced life. Fast food. Fast cars. Fast internet. Within a few seconds we can find practically whatever we want about anyone or anything with our phones!

We can’t take that approach in relating to God. We’ve got to slow down and give him our total attention. Time with God isn’t a task, a to-do list, or a one minute devotional in the morning.

In this age of a high-speed surface skimming lifestyle, God is still waiting in the eternal quiet.
