I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything.
I have learned the secret of living in every situation,
whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
Philippians 4:12-13

We need to be satisfied with life, no matter our situation. This doesn’t mean we don’t work to better our lives. It means we’re at peace in the process and don’t live with a discontented attitude.

Being stressed out or depressed requires so much energy that we don’t have the stamina left to improve our circumstances when we could. Awhile back, we visited Phil and Kay Robertson from Duck Dynasty in their humble home. During our visit, they told us that in spite of all the wealth they’ve accumulated from their TV show, they’ve never changed inside, and their values remain the same. They have learned the secret of Contentment.

Phil asked Kay, “When will I feel rich?”

Kay replied to Phil, “You were content when we were poor and now you’re content when we’re rich.” Their wealth didn’t impact their contentment.

When we’re content, we’re happy and people are drawn to us. When we’re stressed out and depressed, people want to move away from us.

We’ll pass through many seasons in life in our relationships, jobs, or lifestyle. It’s so much better to be content instead of wishing our circumstances were different.
