“Then Jesus said, “What is the Kingdom of God like?
How can I illustrate it? It is like a tiny mustard seed
that a man planted in a garden; it grows and becomes a tree,
and the birds make nests in its branches.” Luke 13:18, 19
It all starts with one tiny, almost invisible decision. An idea enters my heart and I embrace or reject it. God whispers, I respond.
That’s the tiny, almost invisible decision I made in 1974, when I told God I would accept Jesus if he would be my father and let me be part of a family that loved each other.
Forty-two years later, I’m so overwhelmed when I see what Jesus has done for me! All because I allowed the tiny seed to be planted in my heart and cultivated it as it silently grew in my thoughts. Then it finally manifested in my outer world.
God whispers to everyone. It’s easy to turn up the roar in our world so we can’t hear him. Let your mind be still. Let his whispers in. Those are the tiny seeds that grow into a mighty kingdom—heaven on earth.
